Aleksis “NOE” Visners

Our Artist of the Week, Aleksis Visners, better known as DJ NOE, is a Bronx native whose contributions to New York’s DJ and hip-hop scenes extend far beyond music. Growing up immersed in hip-hop culture in the Bronx, DJ NOE developed a deep connection to the art of DJing, motivated by the powerful influence of the sounds and community surrounding him. His journey has led him to become a pivotal figure, dedicated not only to his craft but to inspiring the next generation of Bronx artists through his work as a teacher and mentor.

In 2013, DJ NOE founded the Elite Productions DJ Club at Bronx Envision Academy, marking it as NYC’s first public school DJ club. Through this enriching after-school program, DJ NOE teaches students more than just technical skills. His curriculum incorporates the foundational elements of hip-hop—breakdancing, graffiti, beat production—encouraging students to explore their creativity and gain self-confidence within a culturally significant framework. For many students, DJ NOE’s classes represent a rare opportunity to engage in artistic self-expression, develop meaningful life skills, and connect with the history and future of hip-hop culture.

Through his hands-on approach, DJ NOE offers far more than DJ lessons. He hosted Chris Rivers, the son of Bronx legend Big Pun, for an inspiring performance that connected his students to the legacy of hip-hop and its potential to shape lives. Events like these exemplify DJ NOE’s dedication to mentorship and community building—elements that define his unique teaching style. He encourages students to view DJing not only as a skill but as a tool for personal and collective growth.

With his platform, NiceOnEquipment, DJ NOE ensures his students have the tools and resources to succeed. His work extends beyond the classroom, organizing performances, collaborating with local artists, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to showcase their talents and connect with their community. Through Elite Productions, he provides young artists with a platform to express themselves, grow as individuals, and develop the skills they need to make an impact through music.

DJ NOE’s commitment to his art and his students’ success makes him a true unsung hero in the Bronx. By inspiring and equipping NYC’s next generation of artists, he leaves an enduring mark on his community and contributes to the legacy of hip-hop.
