Franklin Gomez – Creative Director/Graphic Designer

“I am from where the gentlemen are forged,” says Franklin. “Santiago De los Caballeros, Dominican Republic!”

Franklin has been into art ever since he was about 10 years old when he was collecting Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards… but not just to collect them, but to draw them. Some of the drawings were so detailed, that people bought them for a few dollars.

Franklin originally went to school for architecture before embarking on his official artistic journey. “At a young age, I wanted to be an architect so I attended Samuel Gompers High School and entered their vocational architecture program. I did well and as a senior, I taught first-year students at other schools. I won an award and got involved in rebuilding the small park by 59th street.”

Once in college, Franklin then began to focus his attention on fashion and the ideas behind designs. “I really started diving into fashion so at Bronx Community College, I wanted to learn how to use important programs such as Adobe and Illustrator to help create designs,” says Franklin.

That experience lead Franklin to work in marketing. He realized that he had a unique eye for capturing the intangible (ie, thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions, etc) and making them tangible through graphic designing. As a result, his portfolio includes work for major companies such as Martini, Jägermeister, Avion, Chobani, P1nkrain and of course, yours truly, Attorneys with Swag.

With all the experience he picked up through his lifetime, it was only a matter of time before Franklin would become his own boss and launch his own creative agency Isosceles. “I realize that as a graphic designer, you’re just a tool. That’s limiting my potential to grow. I now know the mechanisms… more than the back of my hand. And I can now do so much more with my own team that shares the same artistic eye and instinct as me,” Franklin says.

Franklin’s passion for his work is easy to see. When asked what separates Isosceles from the other big name creative agencies, Franklin said “the brand is the soul of your company. But it is also you… you are the brand and so is your soul. They are inseparable,” he says. “You have to know how to accurately market the soul to the world. And that takes an extremely unique and rare skill. All too often, souls and emotions cannot be accurately depicted through mere words. Authentic understanding and interpretation of these characteristics is more instinctive, requiring time, patience and even reading between the lines of each individual client’s subconscious needs. Many creative agencies are very cookie cutter and only meet with their clients face-to-face one time, if at all. How can you really capture the soul without even meeting someone?”

Unlike other companies, Franklin and his team work directly with clients every step of the way through the process… however long it may take. “We make sure that we deliver just the right amount of help to maximize identity and achieve their peak potential” says Franklin.

Keep up all the beautiful work Franklin!
