Meet Jeremiah Cumberbatch, Photographer

Born in St. Kitts Nevis and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Jeremiah has been doing photography since his 20s. “What I like about photography is the fact that I’m looking in this black box, framing up a subject and turning it into a memory – an icon, something that represents that moment or what I’m seeing.”

While he acknowledges his skillful work, Jeremiah humbly just sees his pictures as a service to the people he captures. “I don’t really feel like I make art, I just feel like I take pictures of the soul of my subjects. They are very good pictures, but I wouldn’t call it art.”
