Shayla Lynch – Designer/Founder of G-Class Custom
Beginning her fashion career as a vision merchandiser at H&M, Shayla discovered she had a superior eye for fashion. She started designing clothes for friends and family for years and with their support and encouragement, Shayla decided to go out on her own and make her own fashion line. “I just loved creating designs and seeing how happy my friends were with my work,” she says. “They would give me a picture or an idea and within about 10 days, I would give them something they loved. It really encouraged me to go for it – open up my own business and clothing line.”
In 2020, Shayla did just that and officially opened G-Class Customs in Newburgh, NY where she features her own clothing line exclusively. “It was tough at first… I wasn’t sure if we would make it since we started as soon as the pandemic hit,” Shayla admits. But things have picked up and they survived. So much so that she intends to open a second location in Harlem very soon.
Shayla has been all over the world for fashion shows and has had the privilege of displaying her clothing line in various countries including Dubai, China, and Paris. She has also had her brand displayed in the windows of several companies such as Sax Fifth Avenue, Macy’s and Radio City Music Hall. When asked what makes it so exciting and special, Shayla immediately said her daughter. “She loves this fashion world as much as I do. She goes with me everywhere and models my brand. Since she was 2 years old, took an interest in modeling.”
Shayla is also the Director and Brand Ambassador for Think Creative, another designing company with roots from Ghana for 5 years. On July 30, 2022, they will host a kids fashion show in Yonkers, NY. Shayla and her clothing line will be there so come check her out! The event will be at the Hilton Hotel located at 160 Corporate Boulevard from 4pm to 6pm. Free Admission!
