All Black Everything
We thought about just writing the word BLACK a few thousand times in black ink on black paper as a blog post. While that drives the point home to most of us, it would probably go over the heads of… others. Sooo… I guess we’ll use some words.
For those who only acknowledge black people during “Black History Month,” it must be said that All Black Everything is contradictory to such a trash concept. While Black History has an expiration date, All Black Everything does not. It is a term of empowerment and endearment. It has no end and is non-negotiable. It is to be unapologetically black. But it is also broader than that:
Most importantly, All Black Everything simply means to be YOU.
The latter part is inclusive of all human beings. Be your full unfiltered self, regardless of the societal expectations and oppression. We have a responsibility to empower one another as people against injustice and oppression everywhere. That is what All Black Everything means at its core. It is a form of solidarity and support for life. So All Black Everything cannot be relegated to just a month – it is the very way of living life to the fullest.
So in every month, every day, every hour, every second… till we die… its ALL BLACK EVERYTHING.
